Jean Garing

Green River- Jean Garing, 80, of Green River died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River. She was born July 9, 1929 in Walsenburg, Colorado the daughter of John Ritchey and Elisabeth Shepherd Ritchey. She attended schools in Grand Junction and graduated from Grand Junction High School with the class of 1947. She married Adrian Ward Garing on December 20, 1947 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2003. Her interests include crafts, miniatures, sewing, and interior design. She sewed square dancing dresses for herself and many friends. She also made wedding dresses, designed, built and decorated over 50 miniature houses and room boxes, and was a lifetime member of Tops. Survivors include her daughter Linda Hamilton and husband Larry of Green River. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ward Garing. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs Private Family services will be held at a later date.
