Jean Menapace
Rock Springs - Jean Menapace, 66, of Rock Springs died Monday, July 7, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a year long illness.
She was born December 21, 1947 in Fruita, Colorado, the daughter of William Francis Schreiner II and Mahela Verda Acord Schreiner. She attended schools in Fruita and also attended Western Wyoming Community College where she received an associates degree.
She married John P. Menapace May 28, 1966 in Grand Junction, Colorado.
She worked as a teachers aide and substitute teacher. She also worked doing custodian and maintenance for the City of Rock Springs, the recreation center and golf course, retiring January 2011 after 20 years.
She was a member of the Salvation Army.
Her interests were taking her children and grandchildren to sport activities, taking walks, playing golf, playing slot machines, camping and gardening, playing cards, cooking for family gatherings and being a mother.
Survivors include her husband John P. Menapace of Rock Springs; mother Mahela Verda Schreiner of Grand Junction, Colorado; sons Darrell G. Menapace of Rock Springs, Mark S. Menapace and wife Christie of Kemmerer, and Steven W. Menapace and companion Shannon of Highland Ranch, Colorado; daughter Lonnie L. Moore and husband Rick of Rock Springs; brothers William Schreiner III and wife Colleen and Richard Schreiner and wife Ginn all of Grand Junction; sisters Ella Mae Guillen, Cathy Irvin, Mary Jane Leon, and Leona Terry and husband John all of Grand Junction; sister-in-law Sonya Bishop; grandchildren John Menapace, Brody Moore, Tammy Gilbert, Andrew Hill, Marco Menapace, Jianna Menapace, Cameron Glon; several aunts and uncles; 17 nephews and 9 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father William Francis Schreiner II, sister Maureen Padilla, brother Wilbur Bishop, nephew Dave Irvin, brother-in-laws Paul Irvin and Jose Leon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Cremation will follow at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
