Rock Springs – James Demas, 66, of Rock Springs died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at his home after a short illness. Jim was born November 14, 1939 in Rock Springs the son of James and Arlene Clark Demas. He attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1957. He married Jeannie L. McIntyre on November 28, 1987 in Rock Springs. He was a veteran having served in the US Army. After his military service, he worked as a diesel mechanic. Jim was then employed as Deputy Sheriff of Sweetwater County until his retirement on December 31, 1998. He then owned and operated Geni Enterprises. He was a lifetime member of the Wyoming Peace Officer Association. His interests included his wife, family, his Harley, and many friends. Survivors include his wife Jeannie Demas of Rock Springs; mother Arlene Demas Pecolar of Provo, Utah; three daughters Kris Egan of Colstrip, Montana, Andrea Demas of Forsyth, Montana, and Juli Michel of Rock Springs; one sister, Lucille Demas Doak of Rock Springs; seven grandchildren, Kami Egan of Billings, Montana, Marny Egan of California, Andy Finstad, Taral Finstad both of Billings, Montana, Lindy, Jessica, and Samantha Michel all of Rock Springs; five great-grandchildren, Kya, Bailey, and Ashtynn Peterson all of Montana, Malea Egan of California; uncle Gene Clark of Rock Springs; numerous cousins; four nephews, Jim Doak and wife Christina of Sandy, Utah, Mike Doak and wife Charlotte of Rock Springs, K.C. Doak and wife Trudy of Green River, and Chris Doak and companion Candi of Rock Springs; and four great nieces. He was preceded in death by his father James Demas, nephew Mark “Joseph” Doak, and a brother-in-law, John R. Doak. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the White Mountain LDS Church, 3306 White Mountain Blvd., Rock Springs. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2006 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs and one hour prior to the services at the church. Art Shassetz officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery at a later date.
