John Bustos

Juan “John” B. Bustos Green River - Juan “John” B. Bustos, 83, of Green River died Thursday June 16, 2011 at his home after a sudden illness. He has been a resident of Green River for the last five years and was a former resident of Hanna. He was born September 22, 1927 in Taos, New Mexico, the son of Alfonso Bustos and Modesta Duran. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Genovie Ulibarri July 21, 1952 in Rawlins. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His interests were fishing and cooking. Survivors include his wife Genovie Bustos of Green River; sons, Robert Bustos and wife Cathy of Hanna, Richard Bustos of Rock Springs, and Archie Bustos and wife Patsy of Craig, Colorado; daughters, Linda Bustos of Rawlins, Pauline Rodriguez and husband Nick of Hanna, Patsy Garcia and husband Roberto of Rawlins, and Rose Irene and husband Ellie of Spring Creek, Nevada; brother Maggie Bustos of Santa Fe, Mexico; sister Pablita Martinez of Taos, New Mexico; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son John E. Bustos, daughter Gloria Puckett, brothers A.B. Bustos and Ernesto Bustos, sister Evilia Duran and great-granddaughter Courtney Bustos. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Dr., Green River. Rev. Tom Sheridan will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday June 19, 2011. at the church where friends may call 5-7 p.m. Sunday. Military graveside services and interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
