John Carl Morrison

John Carl Morrison Jamestown - John Carl Morrison, 86, of Jamestown, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born August 16, 1925 in Green River, the son of William Cecil Morrison and Clara Catherine Cross Morrison. He attended schools in Green River. He married Margaret Louise Shalata July 6, 1949 in Elko, Nevada. He was a veterans having served in the US Navy stationed in the South Pacific during WWII. After returning from the military, he was employed at Union Pacific Railroad and later for Stauffer Chemical until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Green River VFW. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests were farming, fishing, and gardening. Survivors include his wife Margaret Louise of Green River; four children Sandra Kay Larsen and husband James of Kemmerer, John C. Morrison Jr. and wife Kris, Georgia Sue Castillo and Charles William Morrison all of Green River; sisters Emma Rebecca Royce and husband Robert of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother Francis Morrison of Green River; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, four brothers, William Walter Morrison, Charles Clarence Morrison, Floyd Cecil Morrison and Ralph Andrew Morrison. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Green River LDS 1st & 3rd Ward Chapel, 1000 W. 4th North, Green River where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Graveside service with military honors will be at the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
