Superior– John Leon Garris, 56, of Superior, died April 2, 2005 at his home in Superior of natural causes.
John was born December 6, 1948 in French Camp, California the son of Clyde Dotson and Panzy Mae Riddle Garris. He attended schools in Tracy, California. He married Linda Smith in Reno, Nevada. They were later divorced. On January 31, 1985 he married Millie Bravo in Dutch John, Utah.
He was a volunteer fireman for the Superior Volunteer Fire Department.
His interests included his kids, friends at the Pilot Bar, nascar, motorbikes, horseshoes, bowling, working on cars, and football (Raiders).
Survivors include his wife Millie Bravo Garris of Cheyenne, Wyoming; three sons, Jake Garris of Cheyenne, Joe Garris of Denver, Colorado, and John Jr. Garris of Vallejo, California; three daughters, Jonni and Joelene Garris of Vallejo, California, and Tara Garris of Laramie, Wyoming; four brothers, Bob, George, Ed and Ab Garris all of California; two sisters Lucille and Joy, both of California; numerous grandchildren of California; nephew, Bobby Garris and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Jesse, one brother, Jack, and one sister, Clara.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs
