John Taucher Salt Lake City - John Taucher, 97, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Garden Terrace in Salt Lake City. He has been residing in Salt Lake for the last four years. He was born July 27, 1915 in Rock Springs, the son of Frank Taucher and Josephine Lubi Taucher. He attended school in Superior. He enlisted in the US Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe. He was employed as a highway surveyor for the Wyoming Department of Transportation for 17 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He was also a member of the VFW serving as Commander for 7 years, lifetime member of F.O. Eagles, and 30 year member of American Legion. His interests were cars and playing pool. He was also a lifelong Yankee fan. Survivors include his daughter Miriam Corhn and husband David of Rock Springs; nieces Sylvia Angelovich of Denver, and Kathy Karpen of Cheyenne; and special family members Esther, Ruth, Daniel, Naomi, and Mathew. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Josephine Taucher; brothers Frank and Anton; sisters Pollie, Rose and Stella; best friend Lucille Schmidt Jordan. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs where friends may call one hour prior to services. Rev. Arnel Raboy will officiate. Interment with military honors will take place in the St. Joseph section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
