Joline Rae Sliger 64, passed away Thursday January 13, 2022, at her home in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She was a resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming for the past 57 years and former resident of Hiawatha, Wyoming. She died following a short battle with brain cancer.
She was born March 7, 1957 in Huron, South Dakota; the daughter of Elwood and Luella Price.
She met the love of her life Michael Sliger while waitressing at Husky's truck stop. They were married September 14, 1974. They shared their life together for the past 47 years. They had two children, Jessica and Stephen.
She had a few jobs in her early years but really blossomed when she got a job at East Junior High School. She worked as a custodian for over 23 years. She started as the split shift and eventually was put in charge of her own crew. Man did they have fun. She will be remembered by her former coworkers and some students as a bright light of happiness. She retired in 2011 to spend more time with her family.
Joline had many interests throughout her life. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and searching for arrowheads. She loved her cats, and coloring books. She always loved movies, whether it was the original Star Wars or the newer Marvel movies. Many people may remember her battle with Multiple Sclerosis for the last many years. This disease took away her ability to walk and other functions but never took away her spirit and fierce love she had for her family and friends. She never let it get her down, just took every day with a smile and made it better for everyone she was around with her humor. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband and best friend Michael Sliger of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one daughter Jessica and her "favorite son-n-law" Victor Face of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one son Stephen and wife Amanda Sliger of Laramie, Wyoming; two brothers Chuck and wife Janice Price of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Gary and wife Tina Price of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three cherished grandchildren, Emma, Michael and Cierra; one spectacular niece Karen Bear of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Aunts, Uncles, and several cousins. She also leaves behind a spoiled chocolate Lab Cocoa, and Fred the turtle.
Mrs. Sliger was preceded in death by her parents Elwood and Luella Price. One grandson Reno Sliger.
