Jose Benito Cordova Green River - Jose Benito Cordova, 78, of Green River, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs following a sudden illness. He was born November 30, 1931 in Chamisal, New Mexico, the son of Damian and Corina Cordova. He was employed by Union Pacific railroad until his retirement in 1991. He was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Green River. His interests were reading and his cats. Survivors include his wife Jill of Green River; one stepson, Andrew Morrison of Green River; two brothers, Jose Cordova and Bob Cordova and wife Sue all of Green River; one sister Rita Vigil and husband Joe of Green River; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Damian & Corina Cordova, father and mother-in-law, Robert and Daisy Kinneman; 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday July 23, 2010 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Dr., Green River. A holy rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday July 22, 2010 at the church.
