Joseph Gil
Rock Springs - Joseph Gil, 83, of Rock Springs died Monday, January 21, 2013 at his home after a sudden illness.
He was born May 4, 1929 in Superior, Wyoming, the son of Jesus Gil and Salud Hernandez Gil. He attended schools in Superior.
He married Margaret E. Meserve November 16, 1968 in Rock Springs.
He was employed for the Outlaw Inn in Rock Springs retiring after 36 years.
He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Parish.
His interests were hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and scooter.
Survivors include his wife Margaret Gil of Rock Springs; sons Joseph Gil and wife Diane, David Gil and wife Bernice of Aurora, Colorado; daughters, Carol Chirby and husband Tim of Bloomington, California, Rebecca Makepeace and husband Don of Lyman, Wyoming, and Tracy Gil and family of Rock Springs; sisters Theresa Thomas and husband John and Esther Connors all of Denver; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 14 nephews and 26 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Salud Gil, daughter Juanita Burch, brothers, Poncho, Jesse, and Lupe, and sister Marie Petty.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. Father Glenn Szczechowski will officiate.
Friends and family may call 6-8 pm Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.
Inurnment will take place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery, Rock Springs.
