Joseph Robert Lewis
Rock Springs - Joseph Robert Lewis, 32, of Rock Springs died Monday, April 6, 2009 at his home after a sudden illness.
He was born March 14, 1977 in Powell, Wyoming, the son of Joseph Frederick and Sue Ann Carter Lewis. He attended schools in Rock Springs and Lyman and graduated from Lyman High School with the class of 1995.
He married Amanda Carpenter on October 17, 1998 in Mountain View, Wyoming. They were later divorced.
Joe had been employed as an electrician with TIC and also as a chef with Bitter Creek Brewery in Rock Springs.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests were fishing, teasing relatives and playing golf.
Survivors included his parents, Joe and Sue Lewis of Rock Springs; two sons, Elijah Carpenter and Joseph I. Lewis of Superior; one daughter, Madeline Lewis of Superior; five sisters, Kimberly Bonniksen and husband Eric of Camino, California, Laurie Heron and husband Brad of New Ulm, Minnesota, Sandi Walker and husband Dustin of Mountain View, Wyoming, Elizabeth Garcia and husband Miguel of Rock Springs, and Kristin Green and husband Scott of Nampa, Idaho; 10 aunts, 10 uncles, 8 nieces and 6 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Reta Lewis, Norval and Alice Carter.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Rock Springs LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar, Rock Springs. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Friday April 10, 2009 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Interment will take place in the Millburne Cemetery, Millburne Wyoming.
