Joseph Edward Michael Mockus
Rock Springs- Joseph Edward Michael Mockus, 60, of Rock Springs died Monday, January 4, 2010 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 31, 1949 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Joseph and Stella Markelionis Mockus. He graduated from John Bosco High School in Boston with the class of 1967.
Joseph had been employed for Pacific Power and Light until his retirement on December 21, 2009 after 30 years.
He was a US veteran having served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Thailand.
His interests were camping, fishing, spending time in the desert, eating fresh fish, watching sports, especially the Patriots, and the Boston Red Socks, and family cats Fritz and Smokey.
Survivors include his mother, Stella Mockus of Naples, Florida; partner, Debra Jo Tomich, of Rock Springs and her sons, Lt. Col Oliver Gooden serving in Iraq, Stanleigh Tomich and wife Halley, of Rock Springs; her daughters, Chelsea Egbert and husband Cole of Rock Springs, Miranda Kennedy and husband Tom of Wapakoneta, Ohio; sister, Irene Paliulis of Naples, Florida; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Brian and Therese Gallagher, Jerry Dickinson and Carol Iverson.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
Memorial services will be held 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2009 at the American Legion Archie Hay Post 24, 543 Broadway, Rock Springs.
