Karen Tressler

Karen Tressler Gillette - Karen Ann Tressler, 53, of Gillette, Wyoming, died March 4, 2010 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City from complications from cancer. She was a long time resident of Rock Springs. She was born August 11, 1956 in Chester, Illinois, the daughter of Tom and Patricia Smith. She married Alan Tressler in 1974 in Willisville, Illinois. They moved to Rock Springs with son Mattheu and daughter Andrea. She had been employed as a teacher's aide at Westridge Elementary School in Rock Springs. They moved to Gillette in 2001 where she was employed for GMAC Mortgage and then Circle 1 Mortgage Company. Survivors include her husband Alan Tressler of Gillette; daughter Andrea Smith and husband Chad and granddaughter Alyssa all of Rock Springs; father and mother Tom and Patricia Smith of Illinois; brothers, Kevin Smith and wife Debbie, Kim Smith and wife Sue all of Illinois; mother-in-law Roberta Tressler of Pennsylvania; sister-in-laws Karen Ohler and husband Leon of Pennsylvania, Sue Wilson and husband Shawn of Cheyenne, and Paula Draheim and husband Dan of New Jersey; brother-in-law Mark Tressler and wife Gloria of Texas. She was preceded in death by son Mattheu and father-in-law Blair Tressler. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3309 Sweetwater Dr., Rock Springs and also 1:00 p.m. Thursday April 8, 2010 at the Family Life Church in Gillette, WY.
