Kenneth Woodrow Cecil Rock Springs - Kenneth Woodrow Cecil, 72, of Grove, Oklahoma, died March 26, 2012 at the home of his niece in Rock Springs after a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Grove, Oklahoma and formerly had lived in Indiana. He attended schools in Jasonville, Indiana and graduated from Jasonville High School with the class of 1957. He married Brenda Braley on March 29, 1959 in Texas. They were later divorced. She preceded him in death July 19, 2004. He married Loydene Linley May 11, 2001 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He had a career in the United States Air Force as a map drafter for 23 years until his retirement in 1979. Mr. Cecil was a member of the Lake Center Baptist Church in Monkey Island, Oklahoma. He was also a member of the Men’s Bible Study. He was a volunteer for hospice. His interests were sports, including football and basketball, camping, fishing, reading, genealogy, gardening, spending time with his wife in the garden, praying with those in need, singing in the choir and music. He loved bragging about his great niece Zoey. He also cherished his daughter and 3 sons and was always very proud of their athletic accomplishments as well as academic accomplishments. He was well loved and always had a beaming smile for everyone he met. Survivors include his wife Loydene Cecil of Grove, Oklahoma; sons Keith Richard Cecil of Louisiana, Kenneth Randall Cecil of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Kelly Robert Cecil of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Teresa Gale Shufflin of Webb City, Missouri; stepson Kenneth Eugene Relaford of Mt. Grove, Missouri; sister-in-law Linda Herren of Green River; grandchildren Derek Robert Crawford and wife Michelle of Pensacola, Florida; niece Gina Hoogendoorn and husband Bryan of Rock Springs; his many beloved friends at the Yello Jacket 57 Gang. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter Pamela Renee Kelsey, and brother-in-law Rick Herren. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3309 Sweetwater Dr., Rock Springs. Pastor Abe Ogea will officiate.
