Kenneth Neil Spann Rock Springs - Kenneth Neil Spann, 54, of Rock Springs died Monday February 14, 2011 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. He was a lifelong resident of Rock Springs. He was born February 6, 1957 in Rock Springs, the son of LeRoy Ephraim Spann and Lily Mae Jensen Spann. He attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1976. He married Tamara Ann Brown on February 11, 1978 in Rock Springs. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for Black Butte Coal for 18 years and self-employed as a mechanic for 10 years. He was a member of the Congregational Church. He was also a member of the Rock Springs Eagles and VFW. His interests were hunting, fishing, woodworking, building homes, spending time with Eagle members and most of all, spending time with his sons and all his family members and friends. Survivors include his wife Tamara Ann Spann of Rock Springs; sons Jesse Neil Spann and wife Erin Anne of Laramie, Jared Ryan Spann of Salt Lake City, and Bryan Thomas Spann of Lafayette, Indiana; brother Calvin A. Spann and wife Ellen of Lyman, Wyoming; aunt Edna Georgis of Pinedale; niece Melinda Mitchell and husband Jason of Evanston; nephews, Richard Spann and wife Angie of Rock Springs, and Michael Spann and wife Erin of Grand Junction, Colorado; mother-in-law Ann Brown of Grants Pass, Oregon; brother-in-law, Timothy Brown of Grants Pass; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by parents Roy & Lily Spann, father-in-law Fred L. Brown, and several aunts and uncles. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Inurnment will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rock Springs.
