Kirk Sherrod

Kirk Allen Sherrod Sr. Green River - Kirk Allen Sherrod Sr. 47, of Green River died Sunday, February 26th, 2017 after a sudden illness. He was born August 20th, 1969, the son of James B. (Ben) Sherrod and Carol A. Jones Sherrod in Ogden, Utah. The family moved to Green River in 1971. He graduated from Green River High School with the class of 1987. He also attended Phoenix Institute of Technology and received his associates degree in electronics in 1988. He enlisted into the Marine Corps in 1989 and became a radioman and was a Private 1st Class. He met and married Kimberly Anne Lenski in 1991. They lived in Tustin and Huntington Beach, California before returning to Green River. He is survived by his two sons, Kirk Allen Jr. and Collin Joseph, both born in California and now of Green River; mother Carol Sherrod of Colorado; sister Monica Sackuvich and husband David of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his wife in 2015, his father Ben Sherrod, his niece Jocelyn, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, his uncles Bob Wheeler and Ron Jones, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents. Private family memorial services will be held at a later time.
