Lai Wan Liu Cheng
Rock Springs - Lai Wan Liu Cheng, 73, of Rock Springs died Friday, July 22, 2011 at Utah Valley Specialty Hospital in Provo, Utah after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 12, 1938 in Canton, China, the daughter of Man Fong Liu and Hop Nei Choy Liu. She married Sau Ning Cheng in 1959 in Hong Kong.
Her interests were sewing and raising her 12 children.
Survivors include her husband Sau Ning Cheng of Rock Springs; sons, Man Kai Cheng and Man Chun “Joe” Cheng both of Rock Springs, Man Fu Cheng of Aurora, Colorado, Man Lam “Kale” Cheng of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughters, Yuk Chun “Gina” Duke of Pahrump, Nevada, Yuk Lon Edward of Nampa, Idaho, Yuk Wah Cheng of Fort Collins, Yuk Cheung Cheng of Ault, Colorado, Yuk Mei Tucker of Rock Springs, Julie Pfeiffer of Boston, Kentucky, Gayle Gresham of St. Mary’s Kansas, and Sanley Cheng of Fort Collins; brothers, David Lew of Rock Springs and Sam Lew of San Diego, California; sisters, Lai Quan, Wendy Wong, and Cindy Hom all of San Diego; 26 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Man Fong and Hop Nei Liu.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday July 27, 2011.
Interment will take place in the Chinese section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
