Larry Ressler Rock Springs - Larry Ressler, 74, of Rock Springs, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 surrounded by his wife, sons, and close friends, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after losing his 12 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a 42 year resident of Rock Springs. He was born November 13, 1938 in Bismark, North Dakota, the son of John P. and Katherine Ressler. He attended schools in Morton County, North Dakota. He enlisted and served in the US Navy from 1955-1959. He married Jessie Valdez on December 1, 1962 in Hardin, Montana. He worked as a Union Ironworker for 38 years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Catholic Church. His interests during his retirement were woodworking, building model cranes, and in general fixing and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. Other interests were spending time with family and friends at the cabin home in Boulder, as well as taking trips to Riverton, NASCAR. He was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. He enjoyed attending activities and events with his wife and friends at the Young at Heart Senior Center. Survivors include his wife of 50 years Jessie Ressler of Rock Springs; sons Dr. Larry Ressler and wife Dr. Gina Ressler of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Roger Ressler of Rock Springs; grandchildren, Gillian, Larry III, and Logan Ressler of Edmond, Oklahoma, and John Ressler of Rock Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Katherine Ressler and two sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at the church. Cremation will follow at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations to be made to the Young at Heart Senior Center, 2400 Reagan Ave Rock Springs, WY 82901.
