Lavera Margaret Emma Anderson
Rock Springs - Lavera Margaret Emma Anderson, 85, of Craig, Nebraska, died after a short illness Wednesday May 20, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Rock Springs surrounded by her family.
She was born April 28, 1924 in Raymond, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Anna Gerch Grafe. She attended school at Zions Lutheran Church in Bancroft, Nebraska.
She married Harold L. Anderson Sr. on December 5, 1943 in Bancroft.
He preceded her in death on May 12, 1988.
Lavera was a member of the United Methodist Church in Craig. Her interests were sewing, cooking, quilting, canning, baking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was the #1 fan of her grandsons’ stock car racing.
Survivors include four sons; Harry Anderson of Craig, Bud Anderson and wife Mary of Richland, Missouri, Gerry Anderson and wife Lucille of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jim Anderson and wife Joyce of Norfolk, Nebraska; six daughters, Wanda Puffer of Craig, Judy Smith and husband Clark of Omaha, Jane Anderson and husband Bob of Rock Springs, Janice Paulson and husband Don of Oxford, Nebraska, Connie Delp and husband Chuck of Rock Springs, Lesa Parker and husband Robert of Fremont, Nebraska; daughter-in-law Betty Anderson of Blair, Nebraska; sister, Viola Hass and husband Ivan of Wisner, NE; sister-in-law, Laverne Molvig of Omaha; numerous grandchildren including Tony of Colorado Springs, Mike, Bret, Jacob and Joseph Anderson, Christopher and Casey Delp, and Krista Hymas all of Rock Springs; numerous great-grandchildren; several cousins; two nephews, Russell Hass of Houston, Texas, and Kelly Hass of Valentine, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Anderson, son Layton Dean Anderson, and granddaughter Michelle Lee Anderson.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Craig United Methodist Church.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 5 - 8 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation Wednesday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Craig Cemetery.
