LaVere Albert Byrne

LARAMIE -- LaVere Albert Byrne, 73, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, in Laramie. He was born Dec. 14, 1941, to CeDora and Ralph Byrne in Driggs, Idaho. He attended school in Idaho, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1959. After graduation he met and married Sharon Kay (Nelson) Anderson in 1962. In 1966, they divorced. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1963 as a phone exchange specialist, honorably serving his country in Alaska. He was honorably discharged in 1967 and met and married Billie (Bagshaw) Stanton in 1969. They later divorced. Mr. Byrne moved his family to the Green River and Rock Springs area in 1971. He worked as a carpenter with the local union until his retirement in 2006. He remained in Rock Springs until his health declined and he moved to Cheyenne in 2011 to be closer to his son. His interests included camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his children Sandy Clark and husband, Chris, of Shelley, Idaho, Darrell Byrne and wife, Debra, of Cheyenne, Cindy Bybee and husband, Brett, of Clinton, Utah, and Russell Byrne and Tammie Byrne, both of Rock Springs; sisters Darlene Atkins of Beaumont, Texas, and Judy Mae Saxton of Washington; stepsisters Diane DeFippis of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Nancy George of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents CeDora and Ralph Byrne; stepmother Dorothy; brother Merlin; stepbrother Randy Wooldry; daughter Cynthia; and grandchildren Shalya and Dyllon. There will be a celebration of his life for family and friends at 10:30 am. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs.
