Loyall M Wollen

June 24, 1940 — July 1, 2004

Rock Springs – Loyall N. Woolen, 64, died Thursday July 1, 2004 at home after a short illness. Loyall was born June 24, 1940 in Brainard, Nebraska the son of Loyall G. and Margarie Sparks Woolen. He attended schools in Nebraska and California and graduated from Franklin High School in Stockton, California. He served in the US Army and the US Marine Corps. On June 30, 1968 he married Sandra Hampton in Zefers Cove, Nevada. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, American Motorcycle Association, Mens Bowling Association, and involved with the Girls Scouts of America. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. His interest included his grandkids, fishing, and pen and ink drawing. Survivors include his wife Sandra Woolen, three sons, Gary James Thompson, William C. Thompson, and Kenneth V. Woolen all of Rock Springs; three daughters, Dena L. Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah, Linda M. Knezovich, and Margo Parrott both of Rock Springs; two brothers, Lavern Woolen of Texas, and Terry Woolen of Stockton, California; one sister, Waleta of Texas; twenty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ivan Woolen, and his grandparents. At Loyall’s request, no services will be held. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
