Lucy Anita Urrutia Rock Springs - Lucy Anita Urrutia, 90, of Rock Springs died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the home of her daughter after a lengthy illness. She was born March 12, 1921 in Sopris, Colorado, the daughter of Benjamin Lopez and Sarah Vigil Lopez. She attended schools in Colorado and graduated from high school with the class of 1939. She married Robert Urrutia Sr.. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1975. Mrs. Urrutia was of Christian faith. Her interests were baking home made bread, cooking, playing the accordion, dancing, and most importantly her family. Survivors include her sons Robert Urrutia and wife Darlene, Mark Urrutia and wife Kathy, Moses Urrutia and wife Hope, all of Rock Springs; daughters, Magdalena Urrutia Suazo, Lucy Unger-Case and husband Dennis, Barbara Holgate and husband David, and Connie Thomas and husband Bill; brother Felix Vigil Jr. and wife Naomi of Pueblo, Colorado; 28 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Sara Lopez, husband Robert Urrutia Sr., her foster parents who raised her Felix and Blandina Vigil, son Fred Urrutia III, son-in-law Jack Unger Sr., grandchildren Jack Unger Jr., Allyenne Urrutia-Ebersold, and Rosanna Thomas, great-grandchildren Larissa Hale and Baby Brian Friel. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011 and Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
