Rock Springs – Lurline M. Brown, 85, died Wednesday October 13, 2004 at her daughter’s home in Rock Springs.
Lurline was born March 11, 1919 in Phoenix, Arizona the daughter of Earl and Maybelle Grothe Cox Archer. She attended schools in Cisco, Texas and graduated from Cisco High School with the class of 1934. On January 15, 1938 she married James A. Brown in Cisco, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1981.
She was a member of the Women’s Club and the Christian Women’s Club. She attended of the First United Methodist Church, Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church, and First Assembly of God in Rock Springs.
Her interests included crafts, homemaking, reading, visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Jack L. Brown and wife Linda, and James T. Brown and wife Kay; two daughters, Sue Milligan and husband Larry, and Avis Dunkin and husband Ed all of Rock Springs; one brother, Melvin Archer of Ocala, Florida; six grandchildren, Jason Brown, Sonya Hieb, Justin Dunkin, Craig Dunkin, Deshon Williams, and Cindy Milligan; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Brown, her mother Maybelle Grothe, and two brothers Audrey Archer and Hosea Archer.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday October 18, 2004 the First United Methodist Church, 1515 Edgar, Rock Springs. Rev. Sue Pierce and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
