GREEN RIVER -- Madelon R. Desmond, 83, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County due to natural causes stemming from a lengthy illness.
She lived most of her life in Green River.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1930, in Green River to John Avard and Drucilla Rollins. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948.
She married Jack Desmond on July 7, 1950.
She worked as a PBX operator for the Union Pacific Railroad for 10 years and was co-owner of the Desmond Motel for 35 years.
She was involved in the Order of the Eastern Star.
Her interests included activities with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Ellouise Bratke; son, Robert Desmond; grandson, Ryan Desmond; great-grandson, Aiden Desmond; niece, Dru Ann Hill; and nephews, Von Desmond, John Bratke and Dave Bratke.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Stevens; husband and parents.
A family graveside memorial service will be conducted in the Evanston City Cemetery, where her ashes will be put to rest.
