Marcella Holcomb
Rock Springs - Marcella Holcomb, 91, died on Monday June 9, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. A resident of Green River for 68 years, Mrs. Holcomb had been in declining health for the past few years.
She was born October 6, 1922 in Paden, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Jane Crabtree. She attended schools in Oklahoma.
She married Clyde Raymond Holcomb on June 22, 1941. They raised four children together: Max, Mary Kay, Jerry and Chuck. Mrs. Holcomb was a devoted wife and took exceptional care of her husband at home for 21 years after an industrial accident. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2000.
Her interests were gardening, sewing, crocheting, cooking and reading. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and always loved music.
Survivors include her sons Max Holcomb of Green River and Chuck Holcomb and his wife, Cindi of Eagle, Colorado; her daughter, Mary Kay Salas and her husband, Roy of Green River; one daughter in law, Bev Holcomb of Green River; grandchildren Neal Holcomb and wife, Mary Lou, Marcy Mandros, Heidi Ramirez and husband, Zack, Melissa Dallmann and husband Jeff, Amanda Holcomb, David Holcomb and wife, Trish, Ambrose Holcomb and Frena Crane and husband Dean; fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Jerry Holcomb, daughter-in-law Joy Holcomb, sisters Hazel, Floella, Rozella, and two brothers Odis and Jimmy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the United Congregational Church, 350 Mansface in Green River, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
