Margaret Jodene “Jody” Croup Brown Farson, WY - Margaret Jodene “Jody” Croup Brown, 57, died July 23, 2011 at home with family and friends following a long battle with brain cancer. Jody was born April 5, 1954 in North Platte Nebraska to John and Jean Croup. She was raised and graduated from high school in Ogallala and went on to college in Kearney and North Platte. During her life she lived in several towns in Nebraska and Wyoming, finally settling in Pinedale where she worked as a bank clerk and at the school. She then moved to Farson and married Mike Murdock of which a daughter Morgan was born. After his untimely death she worked at the Farson School and for the soil conservation service. Jody married Kim Brown on December 30, 1994 and along with his son Jeremy, built a wonderful family farm and oilfield contracting business. She utilized her beautiful handwriting to manage the office and help with many community service projects. Jody’s interests included traveling, reading and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Jody was a devout member of the Catholic faith. She was a private person and has requested cremation take place with no funeral services. She asked that people not grieve over her death but celebrate her life. The family is planning a memorial service at 5:00 pm Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Eden Valley Community Center in Farson. In lieu of flowers she has requested everyone donate to her favorite charity, Cowboys Against Cancer, 1893 Dewar Drive, Rock Springs, WY 82901-5739 Jody was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Kim, her daughter Morgan Goicolea and husband Bazil and girls Alivia, Sophia, and McKenna all of Farson, stepson Jeremy Brown and wife Julia, girls Kyla and Aspen of Brigham City, Utah, brother Jeff Croup of California and many distant family members and close friends.
