Margaret “Margy” Rose Shepard Margaret “Margy” Rose Shepard (May) of Reliance died on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Rock Springs. She was 53. She was born on March 11, 1961 in Rock Springs, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth “Alice” May. She attended schools in Rock Springs and was a life-long Sweetwater County resident. On October 25, 1981, she married her husband of 32 years, Lawrence “Butch” Shepard Jr. in Rock Springs. Together they had 3 children, Christina Shepard, Lauren Shepard, and Steven Shepard. She worked for over 25 years as a florist at City Market, Jubilee, and most recently Albertsons. While her children were in 4-H, she offered her time as a leader and volunteer. Her interests included camping in the Big Sandy Openings, gardening, and spending time with her family, dog, Winston and guinea pig, Nellie. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence “Butch” Shepard Jr. of Reliance; daughters Christina Shepard of Centennial, CO., Lauren Shepard of Pocatello, ID; son Steven Shepard of Rock Springs; granddaughter Remington Rose Berkel of Pocatello, ID; brothers Robert May Jr. , James May and wife Kathy, Andy May, John May, and Mike May, all of Rock Springs; mother-in-law Eunice Shepard of Provo, UT; sister-in-laws Lavonne Webb and husband Jack of Vernal, UT, Wava Barry of Parker, CO, and Brenda Shepard and husband Alan Erwert of West Linn, OR; brother-in-laws Steven Shepard of Orlando, FL, and Andrew Shepard of Merritt Island, FL. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert May and Elizabeth May, sister Debra Davis (May), father-in-law Lawrence Shepard Sr. and sister-in-law Jennifer Callahan May. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. The Rev. Glen Szczechowski will officiate. A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the church. Inurnment will take place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery, Rock Springs. Condolences for family can be left at www.foxfh.com.
