Green River - Marie Gonzales, 62, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River after a lengthy illness. She was a longtime resident of Green River and had been living in Rawlins for the past seven years.
She was born October 11, 1946 in Price, Utah, the daughter of Jack and Marvel Zoy Christensen Moffitt. She attended elementary school in Hiawatha and graduated from Green River High School with the class of 1964.
She married Leo Gonzales.
Marie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Her interests were playing her piano and going on walks.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Gonzales of Rawlins; mother, Zoy Moffit of Salt Lake City; sons, Tony Medina of Green River and JR Medina and wife Crystal of Salt Lake City; daughters, Lezlie Hodges and husband Rick and Lisa Herrera and husband James all of Green River; brothers, Gene Moffitt and wife Julie of Salt Lake City, and Gary Moffitt and wife Chick of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister, Margaret Hart and husband Jerry of Star Valley; grandchildren, Gary Hodges, Trinity Medina, Isabella Medina, Andrea Herrera, Amanda Shepard and husband Randy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Jack Moffitt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Green River LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 1000 W. 400 N., Green River. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
