Marjorie Brown

Marjorie Vernon Brown 28 August 1923 ~ 20 May 2011 Marjorie Vernon Brown passed peacefully at Family Tree of Morgan on Friday, 20 May 2011. She was born to Earl and Irene Siddoway Vernon on 28 August 1923 at Rockport Utah. Marjorie grew up in Rockport Utah and attended North Summit High School where she met Ray. They were high school sweethearts. On 25 June 1942 they were married for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple just before Ray left for World War II. They have six children: MarJean (Jim) Parker, Saratoga Springs, UT; Dorothy (Jay) Ovard, Henefer, UT; Irene (Brent) Weber, Rock Springs, WY; Brenda (John) Johnson, Rock Springs, WY; Donald (Alyce) Brown (deceased) and Jeffery Earl Brown (deceased). They lived at the Border Station in Coalville where Ray worked for Mountain Fuel. In 1966 they moved to Rock Springs WY with Ray's work. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various callings including two missions with Ray to the Peoria Illinois Mission and Ogden Utah Temple Mission and several more years as temple workers. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and also enjoyed reading and crocheting. She had six children, 23 grandchildren, 96 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray (1990); her sons Donald (2010) and Jeffery (1965); three grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers Jay, Jim, Leonard, William, Gene, and Fred; and sister Theo Frazier. Her surviving brothers are Darrell (Myrna) Vernon, Bob (Rose) Vernon; brother-in-law Ralph Frazier and sister-in-law, Iva Vernon. Special thanks for the care and dignity shown to Marjorie by both the Family Tree assisted living facility in Morgan and Hospice of Utah. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 26 May 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Coalville Stake Center. A viewing will be Wednesday evening 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday morning from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Hoytsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Church's Perpetual Education Fund.
