Marjorie Ann Hampton ROCK SPRINGS, WY - Marjorie Ann Hampton of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on August 10, 2011 at Sage View Care Center, Rock Springs, WY, following an extended illness. She was born December 29, 1919 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Clement and Edith (Miller) Didier. She graduated from St. Augustine Academy in 1937 and later traveled to Fort Worth and Houston, Texas, where she enjoyed her early years working in offices especially during World War II when she was employed as a Sign Out Clerk for the Pullman Company, providing crews for troop trains departing for military bases. At St. Anthony Catholic Church in Casper, WY on April 18, 1953, she married James W. "Tussie" Hampton. They had three sons. At the time of her death, she was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community, Rock Springs, WY. She enjoyed reading, knitting, puzzles and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include son Daniel and his wife, Frances, of Oneonta, NY; son David and his wife, Petra, of Rock Springs, WY and grandchildren Colin, Joseph, Hilary and Hannah. She is also survived by her dear stepfamily, son, Jerry and his wife, Janene, of Casa Grande, AZ and grandchildren Eric and his wife, Darla, of Phoenix, AZ and Brian and his wife, Ceri, of Chattanooga, TN. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Isabel, Elijah and Nathaniel, all of Chattanooga, TN and by three brothers, Marshall, Donald and David Didier, all of Fort Wayne, IN and two sisters, Edythe Sands of Silver Lake, IN and Helen Herber of St. Louis, MO and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Thomas, grandson, Gregory, and granddaughter Amy; also preceded in death by three brothers James, John and Thomas Didier and two sisters Phyllis Nolan and Margaret Chandler. Internment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Fort Wayne, IN on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at 4:00 p.m., Monsignor Robert C. Schulte officiating. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice of Sweetwater County, Rock Springs, WY or Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen, Rock Springs, WY.
