Marjorie Belle “Punky” Burgess
Rock Springs - Marjorie Belle “Punky” Burgess, 54, of Rock Springs died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at her home after a year long illness.
She was born January 8, 1960 in Delta, Colorado, the daughter of James Miller and Eliza Mae Harding Miller. She attended schools in Paonia, Colorado graduating from R-5 High School in Grand Junction with the class of 1978.
She married Daniel E. Burgess November 21, 1986 in Dutch John, Utah.
She had worked as a custodian for Western Wyoming Community College for 12 years, retiring in 2013.
Her interests were gardening, fishing, crafts, pets, Jesus, and she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She spread sunshine and B.S. She asked that you “Walk in love and seek peace”.
Survivors include her husband Dan Burgess of Rock Springs; daughters Jessica Evans and Holly Garrison both of Rock Springs; brother Dennis Miller of Paonia, Colorado; sister Joy Vernard of Paonia; grandchildren Faith and Jennessa Garrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Eliza Mae Miller and brother George Miller.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Old American Legion Building on Broadway in Rock Springs. There will be snacks and a cash bar after a simple ceremony.
