Mary Joy Coulson
Mary Joy Coulson, 69, the “hippie grandma,” yorkie and dachshund spoiler, best hugger and expert storyteller died on Thursday, December 3, 2020 of complications due to a heart attack.
Mary was a free spirit and a lover of life and adventure.
Always ready to be out in nature, jamming to 70s rock, dancing in the kitchen with her grandkids, traveling, playing solitaire on her phone, collecting antiques and growing hundreds of her prized houseplants.
Mary was born on December 19, 1950 in Pueblo, Colorado. Being born so close to Christmas, all she ever asked for was snow on her birthday.
She had unwavering faith in God and family.
She was the daughter of James “Wade” and Mary Coulson. Sister to Bob, Janice, Forrest, John, Peggy, Lois, Nancy, Bruce and Glenda.
She is survived by Charles Reynolds, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Too many to name individually, but she loved her family in such a way that each and every person knew without a doubt how much they meant to her.
Mary taught her close family to end every “goodbye” with an, “I love you” and a kiss.
In honor of Mary there will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date. Until then, to celebrate her life with us, you might consider going on a mountain drive, hugging, turning up the tunes really loud, or just take a minute to smile.
