Mary Ruth Thomas Gardner
Mary Ruth Thomas Gardner, 60, of Green River, WY passed away November 18th, 2014 in Rock Springs WY after a lengthy battle of pulmonary fibrosis.
Mary was born February 28th, 1954 in Ogden, Utah to evangelist, Reverend James Paul and Mary Ellen Thomas. She was one of 11 siblings. She went to school and graduated from Ogden Utah and later moved to Green River. She worked at FMC from 1974 to 1998 in data processing and later at the front desk. She was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 1998. Mary is the proud mother of her only daughter Rebecca (Becky) Messer. Mary was married to Jim Gardner October 7th, 1990. Mary has been a woman of God who has loved her family and church families she has been a part of. She especially was proud of her 3 grandchildren, Taimee, Jacob and Kayln. Mary was a praying woman who loved the Lord, believed in the power of prayer, and prayed often for others. Mary delighted in her Lord and Savior and her testimony of faith encouraged many.
Mary is survived by her husband Jim Gardner of Green River; daughter Rebecca Messer and son-in- law Kevin Messer; 3 grandchildren Taimie Messer, and twins Jacob Messer, and Kalyn Messer; 2 brothers, Daniel Thomas and David Thomas; 2 sisters Lois Cummings and Hannah Berret.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and 6 siblings.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
A visitation will be held from 5-6:30 pm Friday, November 21, 2014 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, in Rock Springs, with a private ceremony following at 7pm.
