Michael Goodwin

Rock Springs – Michael Ross Goodwin, 39, of Rock Springs, died July 18, 2005 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a sudden illness. Michael was born November 23, 1965 in Idaho Falls, Idaho the son of Carl L. Goodwin and Judy Taylor Walker. He attended schools in Glenrock , Rock Springs, and Yelm, Washington and graduated from Yelm High School with the class of 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1982 to 1987 and was on the Marine Corps wrestling team. He married Mari Don Mauch in 1989. They were later divorced. Michael attended Western Wyoming Community College and became a CNA. He was employed at the U.S. Post Office in maintenance for eleven years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests included fishing, camping, and spending time with his children, family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Judy Walker and husband Mike of Rock Springs; one son, Michael Ross Jr. of Rock Springs; one daughter, Deserea Lee of Rock Springs; one brother, David Goodwin of Rock Springs; one sister, Michelle Baker of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandmother, Joyce Taylor of Mountain View, Wyoming; five aunts, five uncles, numerous cousins, one niece, and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, H.W. (Bud) Taylor, and grandmother, Mary Candaux. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005 at the LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar St. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Bishop Blaine Johnson officiating. Military honors by American Legion Archie Hay Post 24 will be held at the Church following the services. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
