Rock Springs - Michael M. Williams, 68, of Rock Springs, died Friday June 15, 2007 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born March 5, 1939 the son of Max Williams and Faye Fail Williams.
Michael attended schools in Provo and Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School. He also attended Weber State College where he received a Bachelors Degree and the University of Utah where he received his Master Degree of Social Work. He had served in the US Navy and Marines and had been stationed in the Phillippines and Okinawa. He had worked for 40 years in the mental health and welfare industry.
In August 1977, he married Liliane G. Delabarre in Elko, Nevada.
His interests were hunting, fishing, and his three dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Liliane of Rock Springs; mother, Faye Williams of Ogden; five sons, Scott Williams and wife Glenda of Nephi, Utah, Ben Williams and wife Jodie of Garden City, Kansas, Greg Williams and wife Kelly of South Jordan, Utah, John Paul Williams and wife Ruth of Laramie, Kirk Williams and wife Michelle of Henderson, Nevada; one stepson, Mark Austin and wife Marie of Pocatello, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Corinne Gandy and husband James of Kerrville, Texas, and Caroline Austin of Clarksville, Tennessee; two brothers, Doug Williams and wife Nancy of Kaysville, Utah, and Jeff Johnson and wife Karen of Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Kayleen Wadley and husband Paul of St. George, Utah, and Cindy Hurst of Ogden, Utah; 29 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, Bill Johnson, brother David Williams, and stepson Bobbie Austin.
Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 23, 2007 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs.
