Michael Wayne Pond Rock Springs - Michael Wayne Pond, 24, of Rock Springs, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 from an accidental drowning at Big Firehole, Flaming Gorge. He has been a Rock Springs resident for the past year and a half. He was born December 18, 1988 in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Mike R. Pond and Vembi F. McClaskey. He attended schools at Shadow Mountain in Phoenix. His interests were extreme sports, climbing, hiking, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his mother Vembi McClaskey of Phoenix; his father Mike R. Pond on Phoenix; brother Cody R. Pond and wife Anna of Phoenix; sister Jena Pond of Phoenix; grandparents Orville and Jean McClaskey of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Wayne and Gail Pond of Phoenix; several aunts and uncles and cousins; numerous friends. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
