Michael Thomas Lichty

Rawlins, WY - Michael Thomas Lichty, 73, of Rawlins, died January 29, 2007 at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins after a sudden illness. Michael was born June 14, 1933 in Casper, Wyoming, the son of Michael Henry Lichty and Virginia Evelyn Hall. He attended schools in Arminto, Casper, and Rawlins, Wyoming. He married Dorothy Virginia Daly on March 16, 1952 in Rock Springs. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2003. Michael had been employed in the construction business and also worked for Arch Mineral Coal Mining in Hanna, WY until his retirement in 1994. He was a member and trustee of the First Baptist Church in Rawlins. His interests were hunting, fishing and traveling. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Besel of Laramie, Debra Parks and husband Harold of Bismark, MO, and Shannon Broadway and husband Robert of Altamont, KS; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Volsey and husband Robert, Charlotte Zanetti, Peggy Brown and husband Garry all of Rock Springs; brother-in-law, John Daly and wife Connie of San Jose, CA; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; cousins, Bill Hamlin of Casper and Diane Bynum of Arizona. He was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy, parents Michael and Virginia Lichty, granddaughter, Tierney Besel, and son-in-law Charles Besel. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, 12th and Maple, Rawlins where friends may call 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Inurnment will be in the Rawlins Cemetery at a later date.
