Nettie S. Miller
Rock Springs - Nettie S. Miller, 93, of Rock Springs, Wyoming died Wednesday June 18th, 2014 in Rock Springs. She was a lifelong resident of Rock Springs.
She was born September 21, 1920 in Rock Springs, the daughter of Thomas Schofield and Margaret Jane Jones Schofield. She attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the Class of 1937.
She married Thomas L. Miller on August 10,1937 in Rock Springs. He preceded her in death
Mrs. Miller worked as a baker for local restaurants, as a checker at the Union Mercantile and was an Avon lady.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion, a co-founder of the Episcopal Church Thrift Shop, and a lifelong vital member of the Holy Communion Congregation, Rebekah Lodge, and Daughters of the King.
Her interests included watching sports,, painting, cooking, shopping, traveling, the outdoors, her grandchildren and her cats Queeny and Rex. She was also an accomplished rock hound.
Survivors include her two sons, Jim Miller and wife Brenda of Largo Florida, Lem Miller and wife Aleah of Burly, Idaho; one son-in-law Gary Moon of Rock Springs; four grandsons, John Kumer, Robb Kumer, Jimmy Edwards all of Rock Springs and Doug Miller of Wisconsin; six granddaughters, Lanette and Shelley Miller of Florida, Jamie Volkmer of Texas, Lavonna Staker and Dawn Robinson of Idaho and Krys Huggins of Colorado; thirteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas L. Miller, daughter Nancy M. Moon, daughter-in-law Lois Miller, three sisters, Doreen, Margaret and Glenna, and her parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday June 24, 2014 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion, Corner of 2nd and “B” Street. Dr. Bernadine Craft will officiate..
There will be a viewing Monday June 23, 2014 from 5-7 PM at the Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial, Rock Springs. and one hour prior to services at the church.
