Opal I. Pirnar
Rock Springs - Opal I. Pirnar, 98, of Rock Springs died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Deseret Health and Rehab in Rock Springs.
She was born December 19, 1915 in Howe, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Carl Farmer and Cal Dona Dyer Farmer. She attended schools in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
She married Arvel Pearson in 1935. They were later divorced. She then married Joseph Pirnar. He preceded her in death.
She had worked for School District #1 in food services for many years.
Her interests were playing bingo, going to Wendover, and spending time at the cabin in Pinedale.
Survivors include sons Carl Pearson and wife Sandy of Rock Springs, Kenny Pirnar and wife Ginny of Novato, California; stepson Norval Pirnar and wife Debbi of Fort Mojave, Arizona; daughter Patty Nelson and Al Onisto of Rock Springs; grandchildren Dina Preece and husband Dave, Shelley Jereb and husband Dennis, Christi Smith and husband Tony, Todd Pearson and wife Stacey, Jeanna Onisto Schreiner, John Onisto and wife Colleen; niece Susan Sweets and husband Mark and their granddaughter Ceilee “AKA Peek-e-boo” Sweets; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Cheryl Pirnar, one stepson, 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Interment will take place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery, Rock Springs, Wyoming.
