Patricia Mae Nelson

Lander - Patricia Mae Nelson, 65, died Saturday May 26, 2007 surrounded by family and friends at her home after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. "Pat" Nelson was born on October 8, 1941 in Grand Junction, Colorado, the daughter of J. D. and Nellie Lane Currie. She married Charles W. "Bill" Nelson on March of 1966 in Kingman, Arizona. They moved their family to Lander in the fall of 1972. Pat led a life full of family and friends. She spent much of her married life as a stay-at-home mom. She had been employed at the Wyoming State Training School as a medical aide for four years. She enjoyed crocheting, needlecraft, baking, reading, and putting puzzles together. She also loved camping, fishing, and rock hunting. Pat made many friends in the course of her lifetime, and will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Bill of Lander; mother, Nellie Williams of Rifle, Colorado; two sons, Jim Nelson and wife Robin, of Wheatland, Wyoming, and Billy Nelson of Lander; four daughters, Jay Lynn Krause and husband Bill, Tricia Newman and husband Mike, all of Lander; Cassie Nelson-Hernandez and husband Mike of Riverton, and Tina Nelson Mattis and husband Mark of Torrington; two brothers, Jack Morse of Colorado Springs and Donald Currie of Silt, Colorado; 13 grandchildren and one great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father J.D. Currie, step-father, Raymond Williams, and one brother Woodrow Currie. The family would like to thank Hospice of Fremont County for their love and support, with special thanks to Terri DeClue, Toni Nolan, and Teesha Burt for their helping Pat and her family through such a difficult time. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Baby Newman Fund, % Atlantic City Federal Credit Union, Lander, WY. Donations will be used to help defray the medical expenses resulting from a serious heart condition in loving memory of Grandma Pat.
