Patricia Pearl Hanley Townsend
Rock Springs - Patricia Pearl Townsend, 77, of Rock Springs, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a sudden illness.
She was born July 12, 1931 in Albany, New York, the daughter of William and Ruth Hanley.
She married George Charles Townsend in Albany, New York, in 1948. He preceded her in death December 24, 1982.
Her interests were art - oils, pastels, acrylics, calligraphy, ceramics, glassware, bingo, spending time with her family, laughter, and color.
Survivors include three sons; Roger G. Townsend and wife Gretchen of Pasadena, Texas, Wayne A. Townsend and wife Sharon of Thornton, Colorado, and Geof D. Townsend and wife Regina of Rock Springs; three daughters, Rhoda J. Barnhouse and husband David of Reliance, Anna C. Archer of Rock Springs, and Nedra L. Runkel and husband Jeff of Green River; two brothers, Richard Cleary and wife Penny of Cheyenne, and John Cleary and wife Sharon of Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Helen Stone and husband Bud of Albany, New York, and Edwinna Donnelly and husband Jack of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren, Josh Townsend and companion Jessica Naravaez, Caleb Townsend, Thomas Hess and wife Erica, Charles Wayne “Chuck” Townsend and wife Kelly, Monica Rivera, Stephanie Robinson, Colin Archer, Christopher Archer and fiancé Zoe Taylor, Meri Archer, Paul Van Emmerik and wife Sarah, Adam Runkel and wife Heather, David Runkel and wife Sarah, Nathan Gines and fiance Caroline Sanchez, Kenyon Gines and wife Bernadette, Ronnie Justus and fiancé Andrea Domhoff, Michael Gutierrez and companion Darci Johnson; 34 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Townsend.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 and one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Cremation will follow at Fox Crematory with inurnment in the Eureka Cemetery, Newport, Oregon.
