Raymond (Ray) Whitlock
Raymond (Ray) Whitlock, 60, passed away on February 5, 2017, at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. He was diagnosed in 2012 with cancer, and fought a long and hard battle, but ultimately succumbed to the disease.
He was born March 2, 1956, to William and Gloria Whitlock of Denver, Colorado. He spent his youth in Colorado, and moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming, in 1990.
Ray first came to Rock Springs as a Nobel/Sysco delivery driver, and for many years as Maintenance Supervisor at Oak Tree Inn. He worked for several years at Halliburton moving mountain movers, and lastly for BJ/Baker Hughes as a Coil Tubing Operator. Everywhere he worked, he made lifelong friends.
He will be remembered by his loving family and many friends as having a wonderful sense of humor, and being fiercely loyal of those he loved. He was a generous person, and would help any who needed it. He loved spending time with his 5 children, 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandsons. Ray also enjoyed traveling, and could often be seen in the summer riding his VW Trike.
Ray is survived by his wife, Kim, his son William Whitlock, wife Theresa, and their children Makayla, Autumn, Kaylee, Blake, Alexis and Carter; his daughters, Bianca Roos, husband Matt and their children Brittany, Nick, Aiden, Dace and Mikaya; Brooke Stahr and her daughter, Bella; Angelique Engstrom, husband Steve, and her daughters Morgan, Makenzie and Devan; daughter Bobbie Berggren, husband Mike and their children, Faith and Isaac; great-grandsons Javari, Wyatt and Landon.
Ray was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held in June, the exact date, time and location to be announced at a later date.
