Richard Horburgh

Rock Springs – Richard Horsburgh, 89, of Rock Springs died June 12, 2005 at Sageview Care Center, Rock Springs of causes incident to age. Richard was born November 12, 1915 in Diamondville, Wyoming the son of Andrew and Elizabeth McPhie Horsburgh. He attended schools in Kemmerer, Wyoming and graduated from Kemmerer High School with the class of 1935. He worked for the coal mines in Oakley for several years. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army serving during World War II. After returning from the war he began his career with the U.S. Government. He retired on June 29, 1973 after 32 years of employment with the Bureau of Reclamation. On April 20, 1941 he married Mary E. Sneddon in Randolph, Utah. They were married for 64 years.With the exception of his military service, he lived his entire life in southwestern Wyoming. His interests included sports of all kinds, hunting, fishing, wood working, and gardening. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. Survivors include his wife Mary Horsburgh of Rock Springs; three children, Richard Jr. Horsburgh and wife Sudi of Boise, Idaho, Cheryl Daughetee and husband Roy of Harrisville, Utah, and Charles Horsburgh and wife Kris of Idaho Falls, Idaho; eight grandchildren, Bryan Horsburgh of Boise, Idaho, Kevin Horsburgh of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jodie Nicotera of Roy, Utah, Michael Antilla of Kemmerer, Wyoming, Jeffery Horsburgh of Logan, Utah, and Paul Horsburg, Brett Horsburgh, and Heidi Olson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; fifteen great-grandchildren, Caleb and Noah Horsburgh, Trevor and Tyler Nicotera, Shanaya and Nolin Antilla, Morgan and Kaitlynn Horsburgh, Kylie and Brock Horsburgh, Connor, Halli, Macy, and Mattie Olson, and Brennon Mohr; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three step-brothers, Benjamin, George, and Walter Blakeslee, step-sister Grace Kulinsky, and a younger brother, Douglas Horsburgh. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the LDS Pilot Butte Ward, 2055 Edgar Street, Rock Springs where friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Bishop Howard Call officiating. Interment with military honors will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Fox Funeral Home, funeral directors, Rock Springs, Wyoming.
