Richard “Dick” Ervin Winkler Sr.
Casa Granda, AZ - Richard “Dick” Ervin Winkler Sr., 78, husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather, died Monday, September 3, 2012 in Casa Granda, AZ
He was born November 6, 1933 in Cordova, Alabama, the son of Robert and Ada
Winkler. His family moved to Superior, Wyoming in 1950 where he graduated from High School.
He married Charlene Overy. They were later divorced. He later married Barbara Shurtleff.
Dick worked at Stauffer, then at General Chemical, where he retired in 1996.
His interests included hunting, fishing, woodworking, bead craft, rock hunting, and shooting pool.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Winkler of Casa Granda, AZ; children Rose Clarke and husband Michael of Houston, Texas, Bob Winkler of Lyman, Trish Birchett and husband Tim of Spirit Lake ID, Richard “Rick” Winkler Jr. and wife Cindy of Safford AZ, Rex Winkler and wife Debbie of Lyman, Michael Shurtleff of Denver CO, Dan Shurtleff and wife Vicky of Green River, Penny Watson and husband John of Lyman, Jay Shurtleff and wife Sherri of Rock Springs; 3 nieces; 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Betty Joyce, and Margie Shinault and one nephew Ted Shinault.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 the Lyman LDS Stake Center in Urie, Wyoming.
Lunch will be served directly following the service.
Interment will take place at the 3:00 p.m. at the Riverview Cemetery in Green River, Wyoming.
There will be an additional memorial service at Sunscape R.V. Park in Casa Grande, AZ, later in the fall.
