Robert W. Henderson Jr. Rock Springs - Robert W. Henderson Jr., 56, of Rock Springs passed away at his home on January 16,2010 after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born September 17, 1953 at Fort Meade Army Hospital in Baltimore, Md. the son of Robert W. “Pork” Henderson and Kathleen Faye Henderson. He attended schools in Fairmont, West Virginia and graduated from Fairmont West High School with the class of 1971. He then attended Shinston Vocational School where he obtained a certificate as a machinist. Bob married Beverly Ann Chucci on November 20, 1970 in Fairmont, West Virginia. They worked alongside his parents at the College Lunch until moving to Rock Springs in 1978. He was employed by Morgantown Machine and Hydraulics in Rock Springs until Feb. of 1992. He them worked for Black Butte Coal until Aug 1996, and then with Bridger Coal from August of 1997 until the time of his death. Bob coached little league football and baseball for many years and helped with the pee-wee wrestling program. His interests were his children, grandchildren and great grandson, watching the Steelers play football, attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, woodworking, and taking trips on his Harley with his wife. Survivors include his wife Beverly Henderson of Rock Springs; one son, Robert W. Henderson III and wife Tammie of Rock Springs; one daughter, Laura J. Lykins and husband Sean of Frederick, CO; one brother, Eric Henderson of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; six grandchildren, Devyn S. Henderson, Braden T. Henderson, Joshua R. Henderson, Garrett T. Lykins, Jordan T. Lykins, Julia R. Lykins; one great-grandson, Declan R. Henderson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Kathleen. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory in Rock Springs. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. January 23, 2010 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. The family will be receiving friends immediately after the memorial service at The Knights of Columbus Hall located on Lowell Street across from Lowell School.
