Robert J. “Bob” Flor
Rock Springs - Robert J. “Bob” Flor, 82, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a sudden illness.
He was born July 4, 1934 in Rock Springs, the son of Robert J. Flor Sr. and Bessie Alice Jordan Flor. He attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1954.
Bob was a veteran having served in the US Army 1957-1959.
He married Ira Alicia Eversole December 24, 1957 in Rock Springs. She preceded him in death April 23, 2008.
Bob was a member of the VFW and was also one of the first charter members of Sweetwater County Search & Rescue. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Kayla, cars, and remodeling his home.
He worked for Union Merc in his earlier years. He worked for the Wyoming Highway Department and retired after 25 years. He also laid carpet, and ran a janitorial business. For many years he enjoyed working with R. L. Volsey Funeral Chapel and Fox Funeral Home as a funeral assistant.
Survivors include his sons Bob Joe Flor and wife Barbara, and Danny Flor all of Rock Springs; grandchildren Nicole Dufford and husband Brady of Omaha, Nebraska, Ashley Niswender and husband Jake and Kayla Flor all of Rock Springs; great-granddaughter Sadie Niswender of Rock Springs; several cousins; his dog “Babe”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bessie Flor, and step-mother Blanch Flor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs.
A viewing will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 and Thursday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment with military honors will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
