Robert Lyle LeMoine
Rock Springs - Robert Lyle LeMoine, 93, of Rock Springs died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 2, 1920 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Leo Joseph LeMoine and Hannah Elizabeth Lundgren. He attended schools in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School.
He married Aileen Alice Williams June 2, 1940 in Los Angeles, California. Their marriage was solemnized in the Oakland LDS Temple in 1968.
He was veteran having served in the US Army during WWII. He was part of the Asiatic Pacific Campaign and the Philippine Liberation taking him to New Guinea, East Indies and the Netherlands. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star, and the WWII Victory Medal. He was a crane operator repairing air strips after being bombed.
After his service in the military, he worked as a crane operator for Bechtel in Saudi Arabia and Richmond, California.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many various positions in the church. He served as scout master for many years helping many scouts achieve the Eagle Scout Badge.
His interests were hunting, fishing, the outdoors, helping others, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Aileen LeMoine of Rock Springs; daughter Linda Brough and husband Thomas Anderson of Rock Springs; sister June Rose of California; grandchildren Rebekah Rice and husband Eric of Layton, Utah, Lauren Hamm and husband Riley of Rock Springs, Jared Brough serving an LDS mission in Arcadia, California, Brandy Malcuit and husband Ervin of Wasilla, Alaska, and Bobby LeMoine of Anchorage, Alaska; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Bobby LeMoine, and brothers Wayne and Warren LeMoine.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at the White Mountain LDS Chapel, 3315 White Mountain Blvd., Rock Springs.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs and Friday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Graveside Military Honors and interment will be in Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, Bluffdale, Utah.
