Ronald "Mac" McMillan Rock Springs- Ronald "Mac" McMillan, 86 of Rock Springs died Monday, October 4, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a sudden illness. He was born September 11, 1924 in Rock Springs, the son of William and Jean McMillan. He attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High school with the class of 1942. He married Afton Baxter on September 11, 1947 in Rock Springs. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2005. He was a veteran having served in the US Army in the Philippines and Japan during World War II. He had been employed by Stauffer Chemical for 25 years until his retirement in 1987. His was a member of the Young - At Heart Senior Citizens Center, the Eagles and the American Legion in Rock Springs. His interest included woodworking, traveling, spending time in Pinedale, and visiting family and friends. He is survived by his son Dennis W. McMillan and companion Sharon Robinson of Rock Springs; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Afton McMillan, parents, brothers, Robby, Tommy and Bill, and sisters Jane and Velma. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday October 8, 2010 and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Entombment will follow at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the home, 1023 Marchant, Rock Springs.
