Ronald Dean Terry
Green River - Ronald Dean Terry, 82, of Green River, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his home after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
He was born September 16, 1930 in Lyman, Wyoming, the son of Cleo A. and Anna M. Terry. He attended schools in McKinnon, Lyman and Green River.
He joined the Army National Guard as a member of the 141st Tank Battalion and achieved the rank of Tank Commander before his honorable discharge March 18, 1952.
He married Darlene Workman of Concordia, Kansas April 22, 1963 in Hebron, Nebraska. He started Ron’s Portable Welding in 1975 in Green River. He worked as an independent welder in the oil fields of Wyoming and Utah until his retirement in 1998.
His interests after his retirement were spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren, hunting, fishing, camping, riding his 4 wheeler and watching sports on TV.
Survivors include his wife Darlene Terry of Green River; daughter Eva Walsh and husband Danny of Green River; granddaughter Tori Schmerge and husband Caleb of Pullman, Washington; grandson Ronald Walsh of Laramie, Wyoming; two sisters, Shirley Watson of Mills, Wyoming and Cleo Ann Glasspoole of Casper, Wyoming; numerous nieces and nephews; family pets Sami Jo and Zoey Rae.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles and sister Karen.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Lyman Cemetery, Lyman, Wyoming.
