Rock Springs- Rose M. Doak, 96, of Rock Springs, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at Sage View Care Center in Rock Springs.
She was born November 8, 1912 in Winton, Wyoming, daughter of John and Mary Tomich.
She married Jim Doak on July 28, 1930.
She was a lifetime resident of Sweetwater County. She worked for Broadway Cleaners and the Outlaw Inn as a cook. In her 50's she chose to earn her GED as she did not have the opportunity to finish High School. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, camping, cooking, baking, and bingo.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lucille Doak of Rock Springs; four grandsons, Jim Doak and wife Christina of Sandy, Utah; Mike Doak and wife Charlotte of Rock Springs; Jon “Casey” Doak and wife Trudy of Green River; and Chris Doak and wife Candi of Rock Springs; two sisters Mary Payne and Anne Tomich, both of Tacoma, Washington; and six great-granddaughters: Jesse, Sammy, Katy, Emily, Julaire and Jamison.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, sons Jimmy and Jack Doak, grandson Joseph Doak, two brothers and one sister.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, January 16, 2009 at the SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs. Inurnment will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetary.
